If a Hurricane Hits New York--Again

We received this in the mail from Mr. Bloomberg today. It's a nice pamphlet that helps one get ready for a hurricane in New York. It defines terms one should know like "tropical cyclone" and "storm surge". It advises one how to assemble an emergency supply kit and how to prepare your vehicle and the like should a hurricane return to New York. Good planning, Mr. B.

I Blame Mrs. O.

By these photos you may think that I saw Mrs. Obama in New York, but these are photos from a website called Mrs. O which is dedicated to following the fashion of Michelle Obama.

I was having a too-strong cup of coffee at this tiny coffee shop in Murray Hill and perusing this site on my iPhone. I love Michelle Obama's classy and bold style--she's not afraid to rock the belt! Anyway, I finished my coffee and headed towards home. However, in New York you can't go anywhere without the pull to SHOP. After all, you're on foot and only inches away from the dynamic window displays. I mean, one wrong move--say dodging another pedestrian--and suddenly, you're a half step inside the store.

This display, in particular was calling out to me.

I was able to walk past it, but darned if their other window didn't convince me it was a sign--no pun intended--to spend some time here.

Two and a half hours and $300 later. . .

What can I say, it was a trifecta: the Mrs. O website, strong coffee and a 70% off sale in a New York City dress shop. Could you resist?
